I am a mother to a 4yr old and 1yr old. I became a mother March 2020. What a ride. My pregnancy and birth with my son was an eye and full body opening experience, as it is for many moms. His birth, was a rebirth for me. I was no longer the same woman I was before, nor did I want to be even if society tries to tell me I should. It also made me the birth and breastfeeding advocate that I am. In motherhood, I I have asked God for more help than I ever have before. I can not do it in my own strength. While I made many different decisions during my second pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, one thing remained true in both experiences...I couldn't do it alone.
And that's why Made To Mother was born. There was so much I didn't know and so much more that I have to learn, but I am very passionate about walking along side women in this season of going from Maiden to Mother. It is a beautiful rite of passage that should be given the time, attention, and intention. Welcome to the journey.

I do offer support in person, but because I am a mother myself, my in person offerings are very limited. When you reach out about possibly working together, we can talk about your desires and expectations for support.

I believe God created women to be mothers. We are nurturers, fierce protectors, & knowers. Our culture tries to diminish the role of a mother, but the call is too strong to be ignored. We are inundated with so much information and constantly have comparison devices within reach. I believe when we get to a place to quiet the outside noise and get clear on our purpose, we begin to find that intuition again.
I believe in the mother-baby dyad. Babies and mothers should be seen as one and my parenting practices reflect this belief.
I believe simple foundational practices such as grounding and getting sunshine are healing practices. There isn't much that outside naked baby time in the grass can't help solve.
I believe what is biologically best for the mother-baby dyad is a breastfeeding and co-sleeping scenario. While the hormonal cocktail is set into motion during birth, breastfeeding helps mom and baby's mental and physical health. Bed sharing, baby wearing and limited container usage help promote optimal growth and bonding. I also believe breastfeeding education should begin before the baby is born and a support team should be set into place.
I believe moms are not given the proper tools to have a successful breastfeeding and postpartum. Many of our normalized issues are common but not actually "normal."
I believe birth is not a medical emergency.
I believe we overdiagnose/pathologize baby behavior and are always looking for something to fix in our babies and ourselves and we are focusing on the wrong things.
I believe everyone is missing the bigger picture of tongue ties.
I believe parents have the responsibility to research and critical think before making medical decisions for their family. True informed consent is when the parents have done their due diligence and then consent.
